Konig Sat Meter - battery help [Archive] - Free to Air Satellite Forums (Asia Pacific) - Sponsored

Anyone that has one of these or knows about them, please read below and help shed some light on to this as i know nothing about these signal strength meters.
I have found a KONIG APM381 SATTELITE FIELD STRENGTH METER (same as PROMAX MC360 I believe) for sale quite cheap at one of those 2nd hand stores. It looks in average/used condition supplied in a black case. Upon opening a pouch in the front it also comes with a fly lead or cable.

Now when i took the unit from the case and checked the back of it, i expected to see some sort of solid rechargable battery or similar.. but it was empty. Only what appears to be an opening,Wedding Dresses, looking similar to what you would fit 6 large 'D size' batteries (ie 2 x rows of 3 batteries). In fact i think it even has a diagram showing something similar when i peeked inside it.

Can anyone shed some light on this, what sort of batteries do fit in there, where do you get them, and how much do they cost. Also no power lead was supplied so any info on that is apreciated too.

The guy at the shop knows nothing about them, flower girl dresses, in fact he was asking me what is was. He said however that it was tested working by the tech and they give a 3 month warranty on it too.

So the value of the battery & power lead will determine weather i buy it or not.

Any help is appreciated.
